Meet the Maker

Based in New Plymouth, New Zealand, Morgan Paige Taitoko is a painter and designer whose work explores the distortions of reality.

After completing a Diploma in Arts and Design, Morgan dove headfirst into the creative industry, balancing her two roles.

Her process begins with photographing colour and objects through human-made substrates, particularly obscured retro glass. This playful interaction with light and refraction results in unique distorted images that serve as references for her acrylic paintings. The abstracted forms and vibrant colours offer a nod to New Zealand’s architectural heritage while challenging perceptions of reality.

Through her unique blend of photography and painting, Morgan invites viewers to see the world through a beautifully altered lens, celebrating the interplay between the natural and the constructed.
